Author Biography

Lois Burke

Dr. Lois Burke completed her Ph.D. in 2019 at Edinburgh Napier University. She is currently a Digital Scholarship Postdoctoral Fellow in the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH) at the University of Edinburgh. Her research interests lie in nineteenth-century literary history, specifically the writing cultures of women and children. Her Ph.D. research examined nineteenth-century British girls’ writings by drawing upon a range of unseen archival material. She also has interests in the work of GLAM institutions and the use of digital humanities tools to recover literary cultures.
