Author Biography

Stuart R. Poyntz

Stuart R. Poyntz is an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication at Simon Fraser University. His research interests include digital culture, children and the media, and theories of the public sphere. He has an extensive background in the history of media literacy, nationally and internationally, and has written on Canadian cinema and the relationship between film and historical representation. His work is published in various journals and edited collections, and his new book, Media Literacies: Between Past and Future, will be published by Wiley-Blackwell in 2011.
