Author Biography

Bettina Kümmerling-Meibauer

Bettina Kümmerling-Meibauer is a Professor in the German Department at the University of Tübingen. At the moment, she replaces a chair at the University of Cologne. Among her recent works are a two-volume encyclopedia on international children’s classics (1999); a monograph on the relationship between children’s literature, canon formation, and literary evaluation (2003); an exhibition catalogue on Jewish children’s literature (2005); and two essay collections on Astrid Lindgren (2008) and Children’s Films (2009). She was also one of the advisory editors forThe Oxford Encyclopedia of Children’s Literature.
