Author Biography

Kristine Alexander

Kristine Alexander is Canada Research Chair in Child and Youth Studies at the University of Lethbridge, where she is also Assistant Professor of History and Director of the Institute for Child and Youth Studies. Her scholarship focuses on young people, colonialism, and war in the early twentieth century. Her publications include studies of Canadian girls and the First World War, summer camps across the British empire, the imperial and international history of the Girl Guide movement, and the epistemological and methodological challenges involved in doing archival research on childhood.
